Dear Citizens of Bowie and Guests,

Hello and Welcome to my website. I have created this informative and interactive website primarily to stay in touch with the residents of District 4, whom I represent on the Bowie City Council. The purpose of the website is to create a forum where District 4 residents can contact me and let me know their vision, ideas, concerns, and recommendations for the great city of Bowie. The other major purpose of the website is to give me an opportunity to communicate what I think is important and what city residents need to know. I am excited about this unique and interactive opportunity and look forward to your input to make it even better. So please don’t hesitate to give your feedback and recommendations on how to improve this site.

Additionally, I would like to thank you again, the residents of District 4 for electing me as your representative. The last 90 days have been full of hard work and excitement. However, most importantly, they have been very productive. With the help of my fellow colleagues on the Bowie City Council.

1. I voted YES to lighted ball Fields at Church Road Park to be installed for the 20045 season.

2. As liaison to the City’s Education Committee I spearheaded a parent led drive to address school boundary change inequities and ensure that Bowie children in District 4 continue to attend our community school, Tasker Middle School.

3. I spearheaded an effort to bring a new sports complex (Greenbranch) to the city, which will include, football fields, a track, baseball fields and various other sporting venues

4. I joined with the families of Temple Solel in celebrating its 40 th Anniversary.

5. I am working with District II Commander Maj. Vince Gay to establish a police substation in District 4.

6. I voted for funds to be dedicated to a new state of the art public works facility.

7. I celebrated the Anniversary of the Bowie Senior Center and voted with my colleagues for funding 13 new computers for the Center’s computer lab.

8. I am spearheading the establishment of a Ciy-wide bus transportation system.

9. I attended the Excellence in Education Dinner Sponsored by the Bowie Education Committee.

10. I toured the Bowie Auditorium and expressed my support for its continued success by voting for city funds to be used for the auditorium’s maintenance.

11. I have met with School Board members to discuss our vision for county school improvement.

12. I initiated a city tour of business development opportunities for commercial development interests

13. I attended my first Prince George’s County Municipal Association meeting.

14. I was able to secure via a recommendation a PGCMA scholarship for the one District 4 student who applied.

15. I welcomed national Sports figure Laila Ali to the City with a proclamation at her recent visit to publicize her boxing match in Bowie in July 2004.

16. I have met with state and county officials to discuss our need to have improvements to Church Road.

17. I have appeared before the County Council twice to present the city’s recommendations on the County’s budget priorities.

18. I attended the C. Elizabeth Reig Challenge Day.

Again, welcome to the website and I look forward to using this interactive website as a tool to deliver for the good people of District 4.

Sincerely yours,
