On Sunday April 10, D.C. At-Large Councilmember Kwame R. Brown will discuss the impact of domestic violence in the District at the National Crime Victims’ Rights Week ceremony to be held at the Lincoln Theater.
D.C. At-Large Councilmember Kwame R. Brown suited up to join the sanitation workers of the District’s Solid Waste Collection Division to examine the effectiveness of the waste management services offered in the District. Starting at 6:30 am, the Councilmember worked the recycling route in Old Anacostia, acting on his plan to help provide a clean and clear environment.
At-Large Councilmember Kwame R. Brown introduced emergency legislation to provide funding for non-profit providers of emergency shelter to victims of domestic violence. The bill “Victims of Domestic Violence Fund Establishment Emergency Act,” creates a special fund comprised of federal funds to be specifically directed for this cause.
