Councilmember Brown calls for Independent Disparity Study to Evaluate Minority Procurement Practices
Councilmember At-Large Kwame R. Brown today discussed the provisions proposed by the “2005 Operating Cash Reserve Allocation Act of 2005” submitted by Mayor Anthony Williams, during a council roundtable. While recognizing the need to provide funding for initiatives such as the New Youth Services Center and Rehabilitation services, Brown proposed options to fund additional programs that directly impact the residents.

Councilmember Brown Introduces Legislation to Protect Displaced Workers and Create Economic Development Opportunities
Councilmember At-Large Kwame R. Brown today introduced four new bills that include protecting displaced workers and making the Mayor’s Youth Leadership program permanent for more D.C. teens. The proposed legislation addresses the concerns voiced by residents and will enhance the overall productivity of the city.
